BOISE -- The Highland Fire has burned about 600 acres near Lucky Peak after it sparked Tuesday afternoon, according to Bureau of Land Management officials.

Dave Olson with the Boise National Forest says the fire destroyed six structures on Tuesday, including two privately-owned outbuildings.

Flames also briefly closed State Highway 21.

BLM officials hope to have the fire contained Wednesday morning and controlled later in the evening. They say the fire was most likely human caused because there was no lightning in the area yesterday.

As of Tuesday, Olson said three helicopters, six wildland firefighting engines, two bulldozers, and eight structure engines had responded to the fire.
