TWIN FALLS -- A helicopter pilot has crash-landed in a field near the Twin Falls airport.

Magic Valley Regional Airport Manager Bill Carberry says the pilot of the lightweight helicopter was a little scraped up Wednesday, but received no serious injuries.

The Times-News reports pilot Steven Wybenga was the only person aboard the aircraft when he encountered a rough-running engine over a canal area near the airport.

Carberry says the helicopter lost power and dropped about 100 feet. Wybenga executed a force landing in a field next to a runway.

Carberry says police, fire officials and the Federal Aviation Administration responded.
