LEWISTON -- A Nez Perce County sheriff's deputy who pleaded guilty to driving under the influence after a January 2011 arrest has received a second DUI citation.
An Idaho State Police trooper arrested Gaylord Jay Colvin shortly before 11 p.m. Monday in Lewiston. He pleaded not guilty Tuesday in Magistrate Court.
The Lewiston Tribune reports Colvin was placed on paid administrative leave.
Court records say Colvin was stopped for failing to signal while merging from one lane into another. His blood-alcohol level tested at 0.123 percent and 0.134 percent, above the legal limit of 0.08 percent.
Colvin told the Tribune he disagreed with the probable cause of the stop.
After the January 2011 DUI, Colvin was given a withheld judgment and his driver's license was suspended for 120 days.
