BOISE -- As the temperatures drop, the City of Boise is preparing to open a day shelter for homeless families.

Starting Monday, the Pioneer Neighborhood Community Center on Ash Street will open its doors for families who have no place to go during cold winter days.

The shelter will be open from nine a.m. to three p.m. daily until April 1st.

Overnight shelters make families leave during the day.
