BOISE -- An Idaho Department of Correction instructor who resigned in May has been accused of having sexual contact with an inmate while she worked for the agency.

Court records show Stephanie Nicole Klein will be arraigned on a felony charge Wednesday.

Prison officials say Klein was assigned to South Boise Women's Correctional Center and also taught at South Idaho Correctional Institution, a minimum security men's prison near Boise. The department said it would not comment further on the allegations.

The Ada County sheriff's office says Klein is accused of having sexual contact with a male prisoner in late 2010, the year she was hired, and in late 2011. Court records show Klein was formally charged July 30 and booked into jail Tuesday on a $50,000 bond.
