BOISE -- Their State Winter Games may have been canceled due to a lack of snow, but at least one Special Olympics winter sport has found a new home for competition.
The State Floor Hockey Tournament was held Saturday at Boise State's student rec center.
About 200 Special Olympics floor hockey athletes were given the opportunity to compete against one another.
What we did then was shuffle around and make sure we could do just a floor hockey tournament, said Matt Coropino with Special Olympics Idaho. So let those athletes continue to train and participate here.
The decision to cancel the Special Olympics State Winter Games came in January when Valley County had very little snow to support it.
