CALDWELL, Idaho -- A man accused of murdering his wife in Caldwell pleaded guilty Wednesday.
Nearly a year after he was first arraigned, Chris A. Stone pled guilty in a Canyon County courtroom to shooting his wife Florence Stone on August 29, 2010. Florence Stone died after she was shot in the back of her head and neck at close range.
Chris Stone originally told police he acted in self-defense after his estranged wife stabbed him in the abdomen. In further conversations with investigators though, Stone's story changed multiple times. He was eventually charged with second degree murder.
Stone remains in custody on a $1 million bond. He is set to return to court for sentencing on September 22.
