BLACKFOOT, Idaho-- A former Blackfoot High School athlete accused of hazing his classmates last year has been ordered to complete 40 hours of community service and pay a $100 fine.

The Blackfoot Morning News reports 19-year-old Tyson Katseanes was sentenced Thursday in eastern Idaho after pleading guilty to misdemeanor principal to battery in an agreement with prosecutors.

Magistrate Judge Charles Roos suspended a 30-day jail sentence but ordered Katseanes to spend at least one night in jail, saying I just want it to sink in, the Post Register reports.

Four other former Blackfoot High School athletes facing charges in the case, including one defendant who was on the Boise State football team last year, are scheduled to appear in court next on Feb. 1.
