BOISE -- A motorcyclist has died from his injuries after colliding with an SUV Monday morning at a Boise intersection. The Ada County coroner has identified the deceased man as 32-year-old Steven P. Moore of Boise. The cause of death is listed as blunt force trauma.
The Boise Police Department broke the news of the man's death Friday morning. According to coroner's report, Moore was pronounced dead at 11:50 a.m. Wednesday. He died at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise.
The fatal crash happened at 11:50 a.m. Monday near Overland Road and South Biggs Street, just west of South Curtis Road.
Investigators say Moore was westbound on Overland when his motorcycle collided with an SUV that was eastbound and turning north onto Biggs. The driver of the SUV was identified as a Boise woman in her 30s.
Police say the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet, although there was one strapped to the back of his bike.
A blue, smaller SUV has significant damage to the rear door on the passenger side of the vehicle.
Because of the serious injury involved, the Boise Police crash reconstruction team was called in. Officers are asking anyone who witnessed the crash to call them as they continue to investigate what happened the moments leading up to the crash.
