CALDWELL -- A fugitive is behind bars in Canyon County after officials say he broke into a man's home while running from police.

Tuesday evening around 5 p.m. police say they learned the whereabouts of suspect 30-year-old Joshua Rojas while serving an arrest warrant.

Police say witnesses told them they'd seen a man matching Rojas' description jump the fence into a back yard and break into a home on N. Georgia Avenue.

Officers say they called the homeowner, a 51-year-old Caldwell man, on the phone who confirmed a man he didn't know was in the house. He was able to escape.

Police say Rojas was arrested as he tried to flee out the back door.

In addition to the felony arrest warrant, Rojas was charged with burglary, second degree kidnapping, malicious injury to property, and petit theft.
