PAYETTE -- Police in Payette say the investigation is wrapped up and there will be no citations in the collision between a train and a semi truck.

The accident happened around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. The trailer was literally cut in half and canned food scattered everywhere.

Payette Police report an eastbound Union Pacific cargo train collided with a semi that became high centered at the railroad crossing at South 7th Street. Investigators say the gear for the semi dug into the asphalt at the crossing.

The accident happened near the Seneca Foods distribution plant. It is unknown if the truck is associated with the plant. Police tell us the truck is operated by Gordon Trucking.

No one was injured in the accident.

Police say the train engine received significant damage and was taken to Ontario for inspection.
