IDAHO FALLS -- An eastern Idaho judge has sentenced a man to up to 10 years in prison after prosecutor said he drugged and sexually abused a 13-year-old girl, but the judge also said he may be eligible for release after completing a 90-day treatment program.

The Post Register reports 18-year-old Miguel Perez of St. Anthony was sentenced by District Judge Gregory Moeller to up to 10 years in prison on Tuesday. But the judge also retained jurisdiction, telling Perez that if he successfully completes an intensive treatment program in a minimum-security prison, that he may be able to serve the rest of his sentence on probation.

Perez was charged with sexual abuse of a minor after the 13-year-old girl came home and appeared to be drugged and she reported the incident to police.
