BOISE -- Some scary moments for drivers along Interstate 84 in Boise this morning after a tire flew off a trailer and struck the windshield of one car and the bumper of a pickup truck.

Idaho State Police responded to the accident in the eastbound lanes of I-84 near the Cloverdale Road overpass around 11:15 a.m.

Corporal Tim Davidson said a Ford Expedition pulling a utility trailer was eastbound when a tire came off the trailer and bounced off the windshield and hood of an eastbound Lincoln passenger car. The tire then bounced into the westbound lanes of I-84, striking the bumper of a pickup truck.

No one was injured, but the female driver of the Lincoln was pretty shook up, according to our photographer.

Davidson says the driver of the Ford Expedition was cited for unsafe equipment.
