BOISE -- Athletes from all across the state came to Boise and Meridian for the Special Olympics games on Saturday.

250 athletes competed in various events like cycling, swimming, basketball, and power-lifting. But even more volunteers came out to help these special athletes with their specific events.

It's the most worthwhile experience. The athletes love it and it's just a great experience coming out...very inspirational, said Volunteer Director Krista Lyons.

Organizers told KTVB the athletes finished a busy, event-filled Saturday with a celebration dance.
