WENDELL , Idaho -- A Colorado woman is dead after a rollover crash on Interstate 84 near Wendell this morning.

Idaho State Police say the crash happened just before 8 a.m. in the westbound lanes near milepost 155.

Police say 73-year-old James Scalmanini of Colorado fell asleep while driving his Chrysler Town and Country van drifted off the left shoulder of the road. He lost control and it overturned in the median. His wife, Jean Scalmanini, 70, was ejected from the van and died at the scene.

The highway was blocked for about an hour to allow for Air St. Luke's Medical transport.

Police say alcohol was not a factor. It is unknown if seatbelts were worn.

The crash is still under investigation.
