BOISE -- Ada County officials have appointed a retired FBI agent to look into criminal allegations made against the county and the Dynamis Energy company.
Dynamis plans to build a plant at the Hidden Hollow Landfill that would burn trash into natural gas.
Some people who live near the landfill believe the county and Dynamis may have violated the law when they entered into their contract.
Concerns about conflict of interest have made it difficult to find someone to take the case.
Today, the Ada County sheriff and prosecutor announced that retired FBI agent and certified public accountant Verna Kessler will conduct an inquiry to determine if there is any evidence of criminal behavior.
Kessler will work under the direction of the Bannock County prosecutor.
