BOISE -- The J.R. Simplot Co. announced plans Friday to relocate its corporate headquarters adjacent to the downtown Boise JUMP Project site.
JUMP stands for Jack's Urban Meeting Place.
Company officials expect the corporate headquarters to be 10 stories high and include 300,000 square-feet of office space. The final design is still pending.
The late J.R. Simplot donated funding for the multi-faceted development. The Project is currently under construction at 9th and Capitol.
Along with the corporate headquarters, JUMP will offer a separate 65,000 square-foot building with classroom, office and concert space as a community meeting place for the Treasure Valley community.
More than 900 Simplot employees who are now located at One Capital Center, the company's Food Group headquarters on Federal Way, and other local facilities will join together in the new building.
The new headquarters will be designed to better meet the company's needs for a modern, collaborative work environment, according to Simplot president and CEO Bill Whitacre.
JUMP is scheduled to be finished in 2014.
