BOISE -- A Boise man is in trouble with the law after a fishing incident at a local pond Sunday evening.
A conservation officer with the Idaho Fish and Game Department confronted Anthony Zangl, 24, at a pond near the Boise River off Rose Street for fishing without a license. When confronted Zangl bit the line on his fishing pole. The officer says that was done to keep the hook and bait from being used as evidence against him.
Boise Police officers responded to the scene around 5:40 p.m. As they approached Zangl for questioning, he raised his arms and forcefully pulled away. Zangl was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail for resisting and obstructing police officers, a misdemeanor.
He is also charged by Idaho Fish and Game for fishing without a license and destruction of evidence. Both charges are misdemeanors.
