BOISE Construction crews will be out on Monday to repair a section of a concrete wall near the Curtis Road on-ramp to the outbound Connector.

The wall was damaged in a deadly crash on March 3. Two teens died as result of their injuries in the crash and three others remain hospitalized.

A memorial of flowers and other items marked the spot where the crash occurred.

The Idaho Transportation Department issued a statement Thursday saying order to do the repairs, crews will begin removing memorial items on Friday, March 16.

The wall needs to be replaced as soon as possible for safety reasons, said ITD maintenance coordinator Dan Bryant. The items would be destroyed in the process if we don t remove them.

However, once word got out, friends of the crash victims returned to the memorial site Thursday afternoon and took away the items.

The repair work is scheduled to begin after the Monday morning commute, likely around 9 a.m.
