BOISE -- A custodian at Nampa Christian High School is accused of trying to kidnap a woman over the weekend in downtown Boise.

Fifty-seven-year-old James Kopp is charged with second-degree kidnapping, aggravated battery and driving under the influence of alcohol.

Kopp appeared in court Monday.

Prosecutors say he punched a woman in the head, then tried to drag her toward his car at around 2 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of 13th and Main streets.

Witnesses told police that Kopp drove away after several people honked horns and yelled at him.

Officers pulled him over for speeding on Interstate 84 and identified him as the suspect in the attack.
