BOISE -- Ada County Sheriff s deputies are looking for two men who broke into a Jeep Wrangler last month and then used a stolen credit card to go on shopping spree at Walmart, only to be denied when the card was rejected.

The victim told deputies the Jeep was parked in the driveway of his home on W. Stirrup Street in Boise, near Maple Grove and Lake Hazel roads. The thieves likely broke into the Jeep sometime after 8 p.m. on June 23. The took climbing gear and credit cards.

A short time later, between 2:30 and 3:30 a.m. on June 24, the men were spotted on surveillance video at a Boise Walmart store. They tried to buy several hundred dollars worth of item, but left the store when the credit card was rejected.

The suspects were seen driving away in a pickup truck with a white camper shell.

The victim told police he found out about the break-in after getting a call from his credit union on June 24 about some suspicious purchases on his credit card.

In addition to the credit card, the thieves also took a money clip, a debit card, a driver s license, and several specialized pieces of rock climbing equipment from the Jeep, including shoes, carabineers, and a harness.

Ada County Sheriff s deputies are asking anyone who recognizes the two men to call Crime Stoppers at 343-2677.
