BOISE -- The fight to free a Boise pastor from an Iranian prison continues this week at the United Nations Human Rights Council.

Saeed Abedini was sentenced to eight years, on a charge, the Iranian government calls threatening national security.

But the Abedini family says he's being punished because of his work to set up Christian churches in Iran.

Abedini's wife, Naghmeh was supposed to address the council Monday, but the session ran long.

She will now present her testimony tomorrow.

The focus at the United Nations Human Rights Council Monday was on defending human rights in nations around the world with a special emphasis on the right to religious freedom.
