CALDWELL Prosecutors in Canyon County have amended their complaint against a former daycare worker accused of sexually abusing nearly two dozen children.

Deputy prosecuting attorney Erica Kallin says a dozen more charges were filed Wednesday against 23-year-old Joshua Ritchie. They include nine counts of lewd conduct with a minor, one count of sexual abuse of minor and two counts of possessing sexually exploitative materials. Kallin says child porn was found on Ritchie s computer.

Ritchie was arrested in August after a 5-year-old boy said he was abused by his daycare provider and the family alerted police. Ritchie worked at Cornerstone Childcare in Nampa and the Idaho Arts Charter School in Nampa.

Kallin says Ritchie admitted to investigators that he sexually abused 23 children between the ages of 5 and 12. Some incidents happened at the daycare, while other victims are family friends and family members.

Ritchie remains in the Canyon County Jail on $2.5 million bond. He is due back in court on Nov. 2 to enter a plea.

If convicted, each charge of lewd conduct with a minor has a maximum penalty of life in prison. Each sex abuse charge carries up to 25 years, and the child porn charges carry up to 10 years on each count.
