BOISE -- Sunday is Easter and to celebrate, thousands of kids were out Saturday to get a jump start on the holiday.
Parks across the Treasure Valley hosted Easter Egg hunts like one at Julia Davis Park in Boise. That was the 26th annual Mix 106 Easter Egg Scramble.
About 1,500 people came out to snatch up candy and eggs.
There was also face painting and balloon animals for the kids.
In Garden City, another great turnout for that city's egg hunt at Lady Bird Park near Expo Idaho.
Kids were able to fill their baskets with eggs that were stuffed with candy and prizes.
A day like today is always busy for the Easter Bunny, who also made an appearance to take pictures with the kids.
Organizers accepted food items for the City Light Women's and Children's Center
And in Cascade, the Lions Club put on a hunt for more than 60 kids.
All of the eggs had either toys or numbers inside. Any child that got a number could trade that in for a bigger prize.
