NEW MEADOWS, Idaho -- A Utah woman was injured in a single-car crash Wednesday when she swerved off the road north of New Meadows.

Idaho State Police say the crash happened just before 11 a.m. on U.S. Highway 95.

Thirty-four-year-old Angela Nielson of Lapoint, Utah was headed north when her 2008 Mazda 6 drifted across both lanes of traffic and off the roadway.

The car went into a barrow pit on the side of the road, then struck a tree, police say. Nielson was not wearing a seatbelt, but the car's airbags did deploy.

Nielson was injured in the wreck, and was taken by ambulance to St Luke's McCall.

The crash remains under investigation.
