Fire officials say they expect to have Idaho's first wildfire of the year contained by Friday at 6 p.m.

The Gold Fire started Tuesday ten miles south of Stanley. The blaze is now about 80 acres, and is burning in an area covered by downed and dead lodgepole pines.

Three hotshot crews are battling the fire now, along with three helicopters, six engines and two water tenders.

They expect to have the fire put out by Monday evening.
