BOISE -- A hit-and-run accident in downtown Boise this morning has left a cyclist seriously injured.
The male cyclist was traveling eastbound on West Hays Street at 7:20 a.m. when he passed a car when the driver suddenly turned right onto southbound 10th Street. The cyclist hit the passenger side of the car head first. He was wearing a helmet.
The driver continued southbound on 10th Street and did not stop.
The cyclist picked himself up and continued to ride to work. A short time later he began to feel ill and sought medical attention. The man suffered two broken bones in his neck.
Around 9:15 a.m., the cyclist called Boise Police to report the incident.
Police say the car involved in the hit-and-run is an older green Saturn.
