COEUR D ALENE, Idaho -- Police agencies serviced a search warrant at a party on E. Lookout Drive late Friday night, resulting in the arrest of at least 19 people, authorities said.
Investigators said information obtained by a member of the North Idaho Violent Crimes Task Force initiated a joint investigation involving the Idaho State Police Alcohol Beverage Control, the North Idaho Violent Crimes Task Force, and the Idaho State Police Investigations District 1 office. The investigation identified a large party advertised as a mansion bash planned at a residence rented for the event above Hayden Lake.
Officers served a search warrant at the property on E. Lookout Drive around 9:30 p.m. Investigators said around 240 people were at the party, with more arriving when police arrived. Idaho State Police said officers arrested approximately 19 people for violations including Dispensing Liquor Without a License, delivery of a controlled substance, and possession of controlled substance. Around 15 people were cited and released for Minor In Possession of Alcohol, ISP said.
Officers also seized numerous bottles of liquor and alcoholic beverages along with controlled substances that included methamphetamine, marijuana and various derivatives of marijuana, mushrooms, cocaine, and drug paraphernalia, according to officials.
Neighbors of the home said the owner of the rental home sent out a letter saying they were sorry. In the letter, the owner said they had rented out their home to a man who claimed he was looking for a romantic getaway. Neighbors said the letter went on and said that the owners explicitly told the man he could not have any parties at the home.
The event was advertised publically on Facebook with around 1,400 people invited.
