BOISE -- Firefighters responded to a large tree that fell on an apartment complex on North Liberty off of Fairview Avenue around 2:15 p.m. Thursday.

Officials say luckily no one was injured.

Firefighters used a ladder to help two men get out their window. Officials say they were on the opposite side of the apartment when the tree came through the ceiling and into a living area. Branches blocked the stairway leading to the front door.

Officials tell KTVB the residents were asleep when the tree crashed through the roof.

Firefighters also evacuated people from several nearby apartments to ensure no one else was in immediate danger.

The wet, rotted tree fell from the neighboring property.

Firefighters turned the property over to managers for further clean up and alerted the Red Cross to assist the occupants of the upstairs apartment if needed.
