BOISE -- An Oregon man is charged with trafficking marijuana after police found 3.5 pounds of pot in a bag on a bus.
Boise Police officers were called to the Greyhound bus station in downtown Boise at 11:25 p.m. Friday after bus company employees reported the strong odor of marijuana coming from a passenger's bag. The bag was in a checked baggage compartment of a bus that had just arrived in Boise from Portland, Oregon.
Police found several packages of marijuana in the bag. The owner of the bag was identified as Michael C. Fuentes, 25, of Cave Junction, Oregon.
When officers approached Fuentes, he ran away. After a short foot chase, officers caught up with Fuentes in a parking lot at 13th and Jefferson streets and took him into custody.
Fuentes was arrested and taken to the Ada County Jail. He is also charged with resisting and obstructing an officer.
