EUREKA, Calif -- A teen suspected of hitting a 70-year-old Portland man in the face with a skateboard in July was arrested Thursday in California.

Daniel Delbert Dorson, 18, who goes by the street nam Lunchbox, was wanted for the July attack on Larry Allen and was arrested Thursday in Humboldt County, Portland police said.

Allen said he was hosing off the sidewalk outside the Portland Outdoor Store on July 15 when he got into a verbal altercation with Dorson. Dorson then allegedly hit Allen in the face with a skateboard and fled.

Allen said he lost consciousness and later woke up on the sidewalk. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he received 14 stitches in his forehead just above his right eye. He also injured his right arm in the fall.

Police later identified Dorson and CrimeStoppers offered a $1,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.

According to Portland Police, detectives traced the case to Dorson, who will remain in Humbolt County Jail to await extradition to Oregon.

Allen told NewsChannel 8 Thursday he had not yet learned of the arrest and he was relieved to hear his attacker had been caught.
