TWIN FALLS -- Authorities say a man is in stable condition with two broken legs after he tumbled down the side of a cliff in a BASE jump off the Snake River Canyon walls.

The Times-News reports the man was with a group of people jumping off the outcropping to parachute to the ground Saturday evening. He struck the side of the cliff wall and began tumbling down, becoming stuck about a third of the way from the bottom of the canyon.

It took emergency responders from two sheriff's departments, the Twin Falls Fire Department and St. Luke's Regional Magic Valley Center about three hours to reach the man and get him to a helicopter on the ground and transported to the hospital.
