MERIDIAN -- Alcohol played a role in a crash Saturday night that sent one person to the hospital, according to Idaho State Police.

Traffic was blocked for a period of time, after a driver went through a guardrail and down an embankment at the Ten Mile Interchange.

The accident happened just after 8:00 p.m., when police say a pickup truck, driven by Marie A. Johnson, 26, of Nampa, went about 100 feet down an embankment after crashing through the Interstate 84 guardrail.

Johnson was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. A passenger in the car was not transported to the hospital.

Police say that both people were wearing seatbelts and that alchohol was involved.
