NAMPA - One person is dead after a weather-related car crash that happened between the Franklin and Garrity interchanges of I-84 Tuesday night.

Idaho State Police say 51-year-old Johnny Robinson, of Nampa, lost control of his car in icy conditions and was hit by another in the westbound lanes of I-84. A passenger in Robinson's car, 73-year-old Imogene Robinson of Nampa, died at the scene of the crash.

A third car was also involved in the crash.

The call came in at 6:30 p.m. - just as police began responding to a wave of weather-related crashes in the Treasure Valley.

The storm blew across the Idaho-Oregon border late Tuesday afternoon, bringing snow to Canyon and Ada counties starting around 5 p.m.

Another accident just east of Ten Mile Road completely blocked the westbound lanes of I-84 just before 7 p.m. The extent of the injuries suffered in that crash is unknown.
