TWIN FALLS -- A Twin Falls man has filed a wrongful termination case against the company that fired him about a month after he won $887,000 in damages in a racial discrimination lawsuit against a previous employer.
The Times-News reports Ricky Garcia sued Western Waste Services on Wednesday alleging he was demoted and fired shortly after he won an Aug. 1 judgment against PSI Environmental Systems and Waste Connections. His lawsuit against PSI claimed he was not being paid the same wage as white employees and was overlooked for promotions.
Garcia's latest lawsuit seeks the recovery of unpaid overtime and other damages.
When Garcia filed for unemployment benefits this summer, his lawsuit alleges Western Waste did not offer any evidence that he was fired from his mechanic's job for poor performance.
