BOISE -- Federal prosecutors say a home builder from Twin Falls County has pleaded guilty to tax evasion.
Prosecutors say 41-year-old Justin D. Shoenauer, also known as Corey J. Schoenauer, pleaded guilty to one count of income tax evasion for the 2007 tax year. He was indicted by a federal grand jury earlier this year.
Schoenauer operated a company called Patagonia Construction, and he admitted to concealing business receipts in 2005 through 2008. He also admitted to telling some clients to make checks payable to him personally instead of the business.
Government lawyers are seeking more than $429,000 in restitution in his case.
He faces up to five years in prison and fines up to $250,000. Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 23 in U.S. District Court in Boise.
