HARRISON, Idaho -- A large summer home was destroyed late Tuesday after a fire ripped through house near Harrison, Idaho.
The East Side Fire District said they received a call around 8:30 p.m. and arrived on scene on the 1600 block of East Carlin Cove Court within five minutes. However, by the time fire crews arrived, the home was engulfed in flames.
More than one dozen firefighters doused the flames with water with the help of three engines and three tenders. They said the home sits along the 5,000 sq. ft. home sat along the waterfront, so they even brought in a fire boat.
Authorities stayed on the scene overnight putting out hot spots and flare ups because wind dragged embers to nearby brush.
No one was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is unknown.
Firefighters say embers blew away from the home throughout the night. One blew a 1/2 mile away and started a small brush fire. That fire was quickly extinguished.
