BOISE -- Maybe he was just reminiscing about his own college days.

But during his State of the State speech on Monday, Gov. C.L. Butch Otter slipped up a bit when he announced that the College of Idaho was due to get $1 million in state funding in fiscal year 2013.

The College of Idaho isn't a state school, rather a private, liberal arts college in Caldwell where Otter graduated from in 1967.

It doesn't receive taxpayer support.

Otter quickly caught his faux pas, correcting himself to say that the money was actually going to go to the College of Western Idaho, a two-year community college created by voters in 2007.

Otter chuckled and said, My alma mater, then apologized to College of Western Idaho President Berton Glandon.
