MARSING, Idaho -- The owner of the dog that bit a Marsing boy last week will face misdemeanor charges.
The Owyhee County Sheriff's Office says 45-year-old Daniel Maggard will be charged with having a vicious dog at large.
On Thursday, witnesses say his dog attacked a 6-year-old boy as he was walking to a bathroom at a Marsing RV park.
The boy received several wounds, the most severe, a hole in his arm that required stitches.
The dog is under quarantine until the Feb. 27.
The maximum penalty for this charge is six months in jail and/or a $1,000 fine.
Per the law - the dog doesn't have to be put down, but the owner can choose to do that without a court order.
The owner told us last week he wants the dog destroyed.
