JEROME, Idaho -- Four months after Jerome's city adminstrator resigned amid controversy, the city has found a replacement.

City councilors approved the hiring of Mike Williams on Tuesday. He'll start his new job on February 3.

Williams has served as the assistant to the city manager in Twin Falls since September 2011.

The change in management was sparked by a massive apartment fire that destroyed several buildings in downtown Jerome in April of 2013.

City officials admit they erroneously billed the apartment owner's insurance company nearly $100,000 dollars for the firefighting effort. That bill was taken back soon after issuance.

Former administrator Polly Hulsey resigned in September of 2013.

Jerome's fire chief also stepped down.
