BOISE -- The investigation into the dog that was shot and killed by a Boise Police officer back in October has wrapped up.

The shooting went under a policy review which found the officer acted to defend himself against what he believed was an aggressive dog about to bite him.

The Boise Police Department says the officer's actions were found to be within policy.

The 5-year-old mixed breed dog named Kita was running loose in the neighborhood when Boise Police responded to an unrelated theft report.
