LAKESIDE, Calif. -- Friends and family held a vigil Friday night for missing 16-year-old Hannah Anderson. Friends and family were tearful but remained encouraged by Friday's developments.

Several people close to Anderson made statements.

She doesn't deserve this, said Anderson's best friend.

We are ecstatic to hear that Hannah is alive today, and we hope that she stays strong and continues to fight, said her great aunt.

This is great that we found a sighting today, and we hope that everything is going well to bring her home, said Anderson's father.

Dozens of Anderson's friends and relatives gathered at the vigil in her hometown, where they prayed for her safe return. They set up candles in heart-shaped formations for Hannah.

Hannah's father said he cannot explain why his daughter did not ask the horseback riders for help. He said it is impossible to understand her state of mind.
