A group of six snowboarders were reportedly on the White River Glacier northeast of the lodge around 4 p.m. when one of them became trapped from a large piece of ice in an ice tunnel.

One of the six people then called 9-1-1, said Sgt. Robert Wurpes with the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.

All of Hood River Sheriff's Mountain Rescue team was heading to the mountain along with an aircraft, Sgt Pete Hughes with Hood River Sheriff's office said.

The five snowboarders came off the Mountain early Saturday evening, while crews work to free their friend. Hughes says they know where the person is, they just have to make sure it's safe to go in and get him.
