BOISE -- ITD rescued a group of ducklings near the inbound I-84 connector pond.

A driver on I-84 called Idaho State Police reporting that the ducklings fell into a drain, on Exit 50.

ITD's Incident Response team responded and used a plastic bucket and rope to rescue nine out of ten ducklings stuck in the drain. They tried to send team member James Cherry into the seven-foot deep drain to get the tenth duckling, but the duck ran up the drain, and was unable to be rescued.

All rescued ducklings were safely returned to the nearby pond.
