BOISE -- A Boise man pleaded not guilty today to the murder charge filed for the fatal strangulation of his wife.
62-year-old Bruce Macomb pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and not guilty to another charge for failure to notify police of his wife's death.
Prosecutors say on Feb. 21, Bruce Macomb held his wife Beba to the ground, straddled her and strangled her until she lost consciousness. According to police, Bruce admitted he did not seek medical help for Beba and she died. He then attempted suicide by cutting his neck and wrists, but failed to take his own life.
The Ada County coroner listed the 58-year-old Beba's cause of death as a homicide.
Macomb's trial is scheduled for October 30.
