BOISE -- Today is a big milestone for the U.S. Constitution.

A celebration was held at the Idaho Capitol marking the 225th anniversary of the day the Constitution was adopted by the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia.

Folks dressed as Betsy Ross, Ben Franklin, Patrick Henry and Davy Crockett joined Gov. Butch Otter on the Statehouse steps.

Knowing about our foundation and what rights we have as individuals and as people is really important, said Marji Greanander who attended the Constitution Day rally.

Bells at the Capitol and some Boise-area churches rang for one minute at 2 o'clock Monday to mark the Constitution's birthday.
