BOISE A fuel spill closed a section of Victory Road for around five hours Thursday morning.

Around 1:30 a.m., Boise Police say a crash between a car and a semi truck sent about 200 gallons of fuel onto the road. The accident happened on Victory Road just west of Orchard Street in Boise.

A hazardous materials team was called to the scene and all lanes of Victory Road were closed between Orchard Street and Gowen Road while crews cleaned up the spill.

No word on the condition of the drivers.

Officers do believe speed was a factor in the crash. An investigation is underway.

The spill has been cleaned up and Victory Road was reopened shortly before 7 a.m.
