BOISE -- It was a great day to get out and walk, and that's exactly what more than 1,000 people did at Ann Morrison Park Saturday. They were walking in support of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Organizers say the Walk to Cure Diabetes just keeps growing every year as more and more people understand the need. Many have started to walk for loved ones, like Bobby Peterson.

I'm here today, because I'm walking for my daughter, Andy, Peterson said. She's 16 years old. She was diagnosed with diabetes when she was 8 and it's been a struggle for our family. So, this is one way we can fight back and beat the struggle. So, we're excited to be here.

Many companies also put teams together.

All-in-all, organizers say more than $155,000 was raised for children's diabetes research.
