BOISE -- The Boise Fire Department saved three cats Wednesday night from a fire that displaced a family of five.

The fire broke out in a bedroom of a mobile home around 8 p.m. Wednesday on North Fox Lane near the Boise Towne Square Mall.

Firefighters had to resuscitate two of the three cats. The owners are taking the cats to a veterinarian to make sure they are okay.

Firefighters say that family of five was not home when the fire started and no one was hurt.

Fire investigators say an overloaded electrical circuit was related to the cause of the fire. The damage was mostly confined to a bedroom but did spread to part of the kitchen.

Firefighters were able to salvage some of the family's personal belongings. The Boise Burnout Fund will also be providing assistance to the homeowners.
