BOISE -- An online community stepped up Tuesday to wrap presents for more than 20 local families who might have otherwise not had gifts to exchange on Christmas.

The organization Care2Share sponsored local families who have found themselves in a tough spot. Organizers then rallied people using social media to donate the items each family needs.

The donated items were wrapped up by volunteers at a big wrapping party held at the Linen Building Tuesday night.

The campaign was fueled by Facebook and Twitter, where hundreds of people logged on and offered their help.

It's pretty popular now with the onset of social media, explained Brie Bolopue, Care2Share organizer. It really is just a concept of people donating in small increments to achieve a large goal.

Volunteers enjoyed live music once they were done wrapping the hundreds of gifts that were donated throughout the course of the event.
